We're ready to

Let's build the future together.

We aim to build Atlas's growth path hand in hand with BostonDynamics so that every jobsite, every task, and every effort is tailored to our shared goals: a smarter, safer future. There's a better way to build. Let's define it together.

Career path

Atlas on the Job

We’re proposing a tailored path with tiered testing environments that ramp in complexity and responsibility—from controlled spaces to active sites—as Atlas is ready.

Tier 01

Controlled Environments

Single elevation, smooth floors, horizontal movement only

Every new teammate starts with the fundamentals. In controlled environments, Atlas can build confidence, consistency, and familiarity before taking on more complex responsibilities.

Use Cases

  • Track Inventory
  • Handle Materials
  • Sort Parts
  • Navigate Warehouse Environments
  • Tier 02

    Managed Field Conditions

    Multi-story, smooth floor, horizontal movement

With foundational skills established, Atlas begins contributing to the daily rhythm of the jobsite while adapting to larger environments and more dynamic conditions.

    Use Cases

  • Clear debris from jobsites
  • Move materials between work areas
  • Perform quality and safety walks
  • Tier 03

    Unfinished Terrain

    Single elevation, Unfinished floor

As responsibilities increase, Atlas transitions into active construction environments where awareness, reliability, and adaptability become increasingly important.

    Use Cases

  • Locate underground utilities
  • Inspect equipment
  • Maintain equipment
  • Support routine site operations
  • Tier 04

    Active Construction Environments

    Multi-elevation, Unfinished floor

Atlas begins extending visibility across the jobsite, helping teams stay informed, connected, and aware of evolving conditions.

    Use Cases

  • Conduct remote site walks
  • Provide virtual jobsite visibility
  • Monitor high-risk work activities
  • Report safety hazards to field leaders
  • Tier 05

    Advanced Site Operations

    Multi-elevation, horizontal and vertical movement

Atlas supports teams in challenging environments while helping improve safety, awareness, and decision-making.

    Use Cases

  • Conduct after-hours security patrols
  • Verify work against virtual models
  • Inspect confined spaces
  • Assess high-risk environments
  • Atlas Performance
    Reviews

    Orientation is just the beginning.

Our proposed action plan includes metrics for success, trigger criteria, and deployment plans as minimum benchmarks for tech adoption at Brasfield & Gorrie. We'll further develop this plan collaboratively to keep Atlas growing in the right direction.

    Our Proposed Action Plan

    Metrics for Success

    • Improved worker performance in co-working environments
    • Maintained or improved safety outcomes
    • Measurable efficiency gains in targeted tasks

    Trigger Criteria

    • Cost parity with temporary labor OR clear value offset
    • Increased efficiency or safety vs. human-only execution
    • Ability to operate in confined or hazardous environments without added risk

    Deployment Readiness

    • 30/60/90-day deployment plan
    • Defined environments and use cases
    • Clear pass/fail criteria

    We build trust, too.

In addition to working with Spot, we've worked with other emerging tools that asked us to think differently, adapt quickly, and work with discretion in the public eye. Because of it, we know how to test new tech under real conditions and turn early promise into real-world readiness.

The Best Teammates are Built Over Time

We know promise and polish rarely arrive together.

From day one, we give our people the chance to grow into something great. Sincere belief in their promise. Investment in their purpose. Limitless opportunities to fulfill their potential.  And that extends to Atlas.

    Our Proving Ground

Construction's risky, and that's part of the appeal.

The work we do is rewarding. It's also fast, physical, and sometimes dangerous. That's not a liability; it's a curriculum. The risk is real, but so’s the range. Construction gives you hundreds of unique environments to pressure-test purpose-built tech.

    • Diverse client base, including Data Center and Mission Critical clients
    • Wide range of project types and scales
    • Ability to deploy across multiple active environments simultaneously

Good teammates grow with people who understand potential, create the right environment, and invest in seeing what they can become. We have a dedicated team that’s all in.

    Jake Lovelace
    Sr Innovation Specialist
Nine years building our robotics programs from the inside. During our previous partnership with BostonDynamics, he wrote the hardware and software stack that ran Spot...at B&G: mission planning, payload hardware, autonomous capture pipeline. Then he built Magnus, our internal AI platform.
    Ryan Hittie
    Sr Innovation Specialist
A founding member of the innovation team. He grew the drone program from two aircraft to active deployment across hundreds of jobsites, developed every SOP and safety protocol along the way, and became the reason we’re the first general contractor in the world to self-operate an autonomous layout robotics system.
    Shawn Mancill
    Director of Operational Technology
In this role since 2012. He’s manages the introduction of every major field technology we’ve adopted: laser scanning, autonomous grade control, 360 capture, robotic layout. He is currently deploying robotic quadrupeds on Mission Critical projects.
    Caleb Powell
    PhD Candidate, Auburn University
Has peer-reviewed research specifically on Spot in construction. He built an autonomous inventory tracking system using Spot, integrating LiDAR, RFID, and RGB-D cameras to map sites and locate materials. Published in the Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.
    Kendall Gazeway
    Assistant Business Manager
The infrastructure behind the innovation. She translates stakeholder feedback into product requirements, mapped the data architecture behind Magnus, our interal LLM, and built the process and documentation systems that give our tech a foundation to scale from. She's the ultimate project manager—and the reason our pilots don't stay pilots.
    Our Future together

    Robotics is Human.
    Pretty ironic.
    Beautifully true.

True progress begins with putting people first—a core part of our culture since 1964. Testing, teaching, and onboarding new systems is how we keep our promise to continue holding people at the heart of everything we do. Atlas is the next step.
